2009 Internet Marketing Trend #3 – Customer Voice

Like never before, customers have the power to influence, even shape your image in the market place.  Companies that embrace this fact can use customers to help innovate and create new products and services that meet customer needs faster than the competition.

Starbucks is a great example.  In 2008, they launched My Starbuck’s Idea, a website that allows customers to share, rate, ad discuss new ideas.  The site then displays all ideas in descending order by number of votes, thus bubbling up the ideas that customers like the most.  Starbuck’s in return tags those ideas for consideration and shares with the community their plans for execution.  Several new innovations have come from the initiative, including breakfast sandwiches, frequent customer rewards, and a host of new evironmentally friendly products.

The point is … the Internet is a fantastic channel to find and communicate with your customers.  A static website won’t do the job and we can show you how to best leverage the latest online tools and technologies to better engage with your customers.  Please call me @ 434-806-3272 if you would like to learn more (about your customers).

Thanks,
Steinar
