General Guidelines
Naming convention
Please use a descriptive name for your video file so that is identifiable not only for our records but yours as well. This might include include a combination of mls#, address, last name or date.
Acceptable File Name Examples
- 456123_1313mockingbirdlane.swf (listing)
- guthry_roywheeler.swf (agent/broker image ad)
- roywheeler_020209.swf (agency image ad + date)
Unacceptable File Name Examples
- movie1_020209.wmv (date is good, but still unidentifiable)
- smithhouse.mov
File Size Limitations
Multimedia files have a tendency to get rather large and though we will compress the file size during conversion to Flash, we can only accept files up to 20 MB.
Audio / Video Length:
Please limit audio and video files to 1 minute.
Submitting Media Files to CAAR
You have a few options to submit your media files to CAAR. These include:
- “Hard Copy” Delivery
- save media files to CD/DVD, flash drive, or other removable hard drive device
- deliver to CAAR Real Estate Weekly office for upload to CAAR servers
- FTP Upload
- login to ????
- click on ???
- Click “Browse” and select your file(s) to upload
- Fill out the appropriate information in the submission form
- Click “Send”
- You will receive an email confirmation upon successful submission.
Video Specifications
We will create a Flash version of your video, since Flash is the most user-friendly for online viewing. This is the same format used on popular online video sharing sites such as YouTube, MySpace, and FaceBook.
Format:
Acceptable video formats include .flv, .swf, .avi, .mp4, .wmv, and .mpeg.
Dimensions:
640 x 480 pixels (standard 4:3 You Tube size)
Slideshow Specifications
We will create an image slideshow of your property for up to 6 images max ( including text images).
Example (6 images)
- 5 photo images
- 1 image with text showing name, agency, title, phone, email, website
Format:
We can only accept images in the .jpg format. This is the standard format output by most digital cameras and 99% of photo editing software programs allow you to save images in .jpg format.
Dimensions:
640 x 480 pixels
Audio Specifications
Audio files will be converted to ??? format for online listening.
Format:
Acceptable formats include .mp3, .wma, or .wav.
